College Football Week 4

Updated: Oct 20

Current Record to Date: 25-25

Honestly, last weekend didn’t go as badly as it could’ve considering I threw out 17 bets. But hey, onto this weekend. I have no clue how I feel about this slate, but I do think we have some value with there being only a couple games that I love. This is probably a blessing, as a smaller slate could lead to higher quality picks to get us back above 50%. Stay with me, we’re about to get hot. Let’s ride:

Friday Night:

Wake Forest at UVA (-4), Over/Under 68.5

This over/under number is incredible, and frankly makes me want to root for points. With that being said, it is too high BUT I will gladly follow the Cavaliers in this one. If their QB, Brennan Armstrong, were on Alabama with the numbers he’s put up this year, he would be the Heisman frontrunner. UVA wins big at home.

The Pick: UVA -4 (4)

Saturday:

Notre Dame vs Wisconsin (-5.5), Over/Under 46.5

If you know me, you know that this is like picking between two of your own children. I actually love Wisconsin in this spot, considering the Wisconsin coaching staff should know how Jack Coan is going to play, since they coached him and watched him every single day for four years. ND has a shaky defense, and I expect Wisco to have success rushing the ball.

The Pick: Wisco -5.5 (4)

LSU (-2) at Miss State, Over/Under 56

Mississippi State in Starkville. I think LSU is still overrated from damn 3 years ago and that vegas is waiting for them to be good again. No reason they should be favored. We ride the bulldogs.

The Pick: Miss State +2/moneyline (3)

Mizzou (-2.5) at Boston College, Over/Under 58

Mizzou is very pass heavy against Boston College's top 10 seconday. Mizzou has a very bad rush defense against a very rush heavy BC team as well. Bad combo, give me BC and the points.

The pick: BC +2.5 (4)

Miami (OH) at Army (-8), Over/Under 49

Miami-Ohio simply put is not that good, Army has been hot as of late and I think Army dominates the game and time of possession with long sustaining drives, wearing down Miami’s defense.

The Pick: Army -8 (3)

UTSA at Memphis (-3), Over/Under 66.5

I really can’t explain this pick, but I absolutely love UTSA. This is a classic let down game after an emotional win over an SEC team last week. UTSA is going to be putting up points left and right.

The Pick: UTSA +3, sprinkle moneyline (5)

Kentucky (-5) at South Carolina, Over/Under 48.5

Don’t get me wrong, both of these teams stink. But, South Carolina getting a healthy Doty back, and getting back into the swing of things last weekend against Georgia, it’s hard not to like the Cocks. The stadium will be rocking and I think Kentucky is going to fold after almost losing to Chattanooga.

The Pick: South Carolina +5, sprinkle moneyline (5)

Clemson (-10) at NC State, Over/Under 48

This is the only game that I will have two picks for. I think this is a trap, but I am going to first choose the under. I can see this being a 20-13, 20-16 clemson win. NC State is going to struggle to move the ball, but NC State is going to be able to get through this sorry Clemson O-Line. Expect this one to be close and points will be hard to come by.

The Picks: NC State +10 (3), sprinkle ml, Under 48 (3)

Tennessee at Florida (-20), Over/Under 63.5

In my favorite pick of the week, I believe this line is so wrong. Okay, it isn’t wrong but I don’t think it’s taking into account the emotional factor that Florida just went through when they almost beat Alabama. This is a classic let-down game after the Gators left it all on the field last week, and I expect Tennessee to keep it close behind play from QB Hendon Hooker.

The Pick: Tennessee +20, sprinkle moneyline (5)

UCLA (-4.5) at Stanford, Over/Under 58.5

Even after last week, I am riding with UCLA. Opposite the last review I gave, I believe that UCLA is going to come out with vengeance, especially against a Stanford team who has been bit a little bit by the injury bug.

The Pick: UCLA -4.5 (3)

Picks by Confidence:

1: 0-1

2: 5-7

3: 8-10

4: 6-3

5: 6-4
