College Football Week 2 Picks

Updated: Sep 11, 2021

Current Record to date: 11-9

At first glance, I thought this slate was disgusting. But, here I sit on Friday afternoon absolutely loving these matchups. This is just an old-fashioned, sit on the couch degenerate weekend. This is going to be the bounce back weekend we need after last weeks .500 outing. Let’s have a damn day. Nearly all of my deemed ‘high confidence’ bets have been hitting, which is a good sign, but hopefully we can start hitting the lower confidence picks at a higher clip as well. Let’s just jump right into more picks for this upcoming week.

CFB Plays:

North Dakota at Utah State (-6.5), Over/Under 53.5

Utah State is just the better team. I feel like they are being undervalued based on their god awful coach from last year, but that ship has been corrected, and the FBS will prevail.

The Pick: Utah State -6.5 (3)

Illinois at Virginia (-10.5), Over/Under 55.5

This game has no points written all over it. UVA has a very good defense, and Illinois should be able to contain UVA’s rush attack, and Bielema will run the ball and chew some clock doing it.

The Pick: Under 55.5 (2)

Pittsburgh (-3) at Tennessee, Over/Under 56.5

Pickett and Narduzzi. I am a full rider when it comes to Pittsburgh. I think they’re going to be able to move the ball and Tennessee, who has their best QB as a backup, will struggle. Fade Joe Milton at all cost, let’s go Panthers.

The Pick: Pittsburgh -3 (5)

NC State (-1.5) at Mississippi State, Over/Under 55.5

The Wolfpacks 3-3-5 defense should be able to hold off the Mississippi State Air Raid. NC State is out to prove something this year, as they are a dark horse to win the ACC. Even when their stud QB underperformed last game, they still won 45-0. I am very high on this Wolfpack team.

The Pick: NC State -1.5 (4)

Rutgers (-2) at Syracuse, Over/Under 52

I LOVE Schiano in this pick. I am so fully invested in the fact that Rutgers is back, and Syracuse may be the worst team in the Power Five. Rutgers by a million.

The Pick: Rutgers -2 (4)

South Carolina (-2) at ECU, Over/Under 56

I mean… I have to take this pick, right? I’m all over the Cocks this Saturday. This is a textbook trap-game, but I love the Gamecocks with Doty and Kevin Harris back to cover against the Pirates.

The Pick: South Carolina -2 (4)

Iowa at Iowa State (-4.5), Over/Under 46.5

This pick pains me, as I am a B1G Ten guy through and through, but I am going to have to ride the Cyclones in this one. I think Matt Campbell is putting together something special in Iowa State, a very Dak Mississippi State one-year-wonder type season. We’ll see but I’ll ride with ISU.

The Pick: Iowa State -4.5 (3)

Texas (-7) at Arkansas, over/Under 56

Ok, cool. Hook em’. I’m all over the Longhorns in this one. I think they finally found their guy in Steve Sarkisian, and they are going to slaughter their soon-to-be conference foe Arkansas.

The Pick: Texas -7 (3)

Washington at Michigan (-7), Over/Under 48.5

Washington lost to Montana in Week 1…. Montana. I don’t give a damn how revenge fueled they are going into this game, Michigan is the better team, and they are going to run it down Washington’s throats.

The Pick: Michigan -7 (2)

Western Kentucky at Army (-5.5), Over/Under 52

Western Kentucky could not stop the run whatsoever in week 1, so I don’t expect that to get any easier against Army’s triple option in all honesty. Army should run them to death (metaphorically).

The Pick: Army -5.5 (5)

Georgia State at UNC (-26), Over/Under 66

This was a late add to my board, but my god I love it. UNC is going to be pissed off after a let-down performance against VT this past week. UNC is going to come out firing and win by 30+, with Howell once again looking like a Heisman favorite should.

The Pick: UNC -26 (4)

San Diego State at Arizona (-1.5), Over/Under 46.5

Personally, I just think the wrong team is favored here. Watched Arizona last week and they are putrid. Let’s go Aztecs.

The Pick: San Diego State +1.5 (4)

10 point, 3-Team teaser (5):

Wisconsin -16

Wisconsin under 62

ND -7

10 point, 3-Team teaser (5)

OSU -4,5

ND -7

Minnesota -8

Pick Record by Confidence

1: 0-1

2: 3-4

3: 4-3

4: 2-1

5: 2-0
